Horse Riding Daycamp
Is your child crazy about horses and ponies?? If you are looking for total horse immersion and a dream-come-true for your child, ages 5 to 14, then a riding camp at Wynbrook is the place to be!
We have a 5-day March (April) Break Camp running from April 12th to the 16th. SOLD OUT!
We’re also offering 8 full weeks of Summer Camp this year starting on Monday, June 28th, and running to Friday, August 20th.
Camp activities begin at 8:30 am and end at 4:00 pm. We can help arrange for car-pooling, or early drop-offs or late pick-ups should that be necessary. The children will ride twice every day with a morning instructional lesson, and an afternoon “pony game” which could include mounted games, bareback, trail riding, etc.
Swimming, hikes & scavenger hunts!
Children will have access to our “lounge” with the use of a fridge and microwave for their lunches, and we offer our above ground swimming pool for a refreshing break from the heat and all of the pony excitement! Nature hikes, arts and crafts, and scavenger hunts round out some of the fun activities offered in our full-day camp program.
Building Self-Esteem & Confidence
As riding is such a unique sport and requires more time to develop a relationship with an animal, we suggest you register your child for 2 consecutive weeks when possible which will raise your child’s self-esteem and confidence as he or she will return to the second week with already made friends and an established connection with their horse or pony.
Horse Show Day
On the last day of camp, the children will perform a “horse show” for their parents, and friends to enjoy, as they demonstrate a variety of skills they have learned during their camp – don’t forget your camera! All campers will receive a camp T-shirt as well as their very first horse show ribbon as a keepsake of their time spent at Wynbrook Riding School.
The 2021 fee for the camp is $450 plus HST for a one-week session. With a team of 8-10 staff members, we can easily divide the children into 5 or 6 smaller groups for the riding lessons, and maintain our standards of safety and professional care as high as ever.
All of our saddles are equipped with safety “break away” stirrups, and we offer a limited supply of ASTM safety approved helmets to lend during our camp. All campers are required to have their riding pants (breeches, or leggings, no jeans) and paddock boots, rubber boots, or blunstones.
