The Importance of Day Camps

  • It’s a Great Way to Get Into the Horse World

Here at our equestrian day camp, your child will learn everything they need to know about horses! They'll learn how to groom them, how to tack them up, and how to ride them. But more importantly, they'll get a chance to bond with these beautiful animals.

Horses are intelligent and sensitive creatures, and forming a connection with them can be a truly rewarding experience. Camp is a great way for your child to get started in the horse world. They'll make new friends, both human and equine, and they'll develop the skills and confidence they need to pursue their dreams. So what are you waiting for? Sign up today!

  • Your Child Will Get A Huge Boost in Your Confidence

Horseback riding is a great way for your child to get some exercise while having fun. But did you know that horseback riding can also help your child develop confidence? When your child is able to control a horse, it can give them a sense of power and responsibility. And as they master different riding skills, they will build self-esteem and confidence.

Attending our camp can help your child gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed in riding. These camps provide a safe and nurturing environment where your child can learn at their own pace. With the guidance of our experienced instructors, your child will learn how to control their horse, navigate different terrain, and perform various riding maneuvers. As they progress, they will build self-confidence and develop a love for horses.

If you are looking for an activity that will boost your child's confidence, consider enrolling them in an equestrian day camp.

  • Your Child Will Learn How to Focus Better

If your child loves horses and being outdoors, why not sign them up for an equestrian day camp this summer? They will learn how to take care of horses, how to ride them and most importantly, they will learn how to focus better.

Being around horses requires attentiveness and concentration, two skills that will come in handy in all areas of your child's life. In addition, they will get plenty of exercise and fresh air, both of which are essential for a healthy mind and body. And who knows, they might even make some new friends along the way.

So if you're looking for an activity that will help your child grow and learn this summer, look no further than our day camp.

  • They Will Get a Better Understanding of Responsibility

At our day camp, your child will learn how to take care of a horse, from feeding and grooming to saddling and riding. They'll also learn how to work as part of a team, as they'll be responsible for caring for their horse alongside other campers.

In addition, they'll get plenty of fresh air and exercise, all while having fun and making new friends. So if you're looking for a camp that will teach your child valuable life skills, sign them up for our day camp today.

  • They Will Gain Athletic Ability

Here at Wynbrook Equestrian Centre, we believe that equestrian day camps provide an important service for young people. Not only do campers get to enjoy the outdoors and learn about horseback riding, but they also develop important athletic skills.

For instance, our campers learn how to control their horses at various speeds and navigate obstacles. This requires coordination, balance, and fine motor control. In addition, campers also gain strength and endurance from riding. As a result, your child will not only have a great time at our camp, but they will also develop important athletic skills that will benefit them throughout their life.

  • Daycamp Schedule

Camp activities begin at 8:30 am and end at 4:00 pm. We can help arrange for car-pooling, or early drop-offs or late pick-ups should that be necessary. The children will have a one hour lesson every single day and horse related activities throughout the rest of the day. Learning how to care for the horses, tack them up for lessons, braiding, bathing and grooming are all part of good horsemanship and also gives the children an opportunity to bond with each of the horses.

Children will also be able to cool off in our swimming pool. A wonderful way to end a hot summer day!

  • Building Self-Esteem & Confidence

As riding is such a unique sport and requires more time to develop a relationship with an animal, we suggest you register your child for 2 consecutive weeks when possible which will raise your child’s self-esteem and confidence as he or she will return to the second week with already made friends and an established connection with their horse or pony.

  • Last Day

On the last day of camp, there will be a BBQ with hot dogs, drinks and snacks provided for all the children to celebrate the end of a successful camp experience.

  • Daycamp Fees

The 2024 fee for the camp is $550 plus HST for a one-week session. With a team of 4-6 staff members, we can easily divide the children into 4 or 5 smaller groups for the riding lessons and maintain our standards of safety and professional care as high as ever.

  • Equipment

All of our saddles are equipped with safety “break away” stirrups, and we offer a limited supply of ASTM safety approved helmets to lend during our camp. All campers are required to have their riding pants (breeches, or leggings, no jeans) and paddock boots, rubber boots, or Blundstones.
