Wynbrook Farm provides riding lessons to students 8 years and older in groups of 5 students (beginners) or 6 students (novice level and up).  Our lessons are 1 and 1/2 hours in length, with special emphasis on achieving a solid base of correct equitation right from the beginning.  We alternate disciplines with jumping and dressage every other week, so that all of our students will be knowledgeable and comfortable with both areas of riding. 

Stable management is also a key element at Wynbrook Farm and all students are taught correct grooming and tacking up procedures. There are basic stable management courses taught every fall where students learn more about the care, feeding and first aid involved in working with horses in the stable.

Wynbrook Farm was the first to recognize the need for rider levels and introduced eight progressive badge levels back in 1987.  Annual badge days, usually in February, allow each student a private assessment where they are tested on certain skills for their level of riding and must answer stable management questions to correspond with that level.  This has proven to be extremely successful in guaranteeing a solid education and a boost of confidence as the student receives a certificate and written assessment upon completion of each level.

The senior coaches at Wynbrook Farm are nationally certified coaches and the junior coaches are in the national apprenticeship program working towards their certification.  Regular staff meetings and training clinics ensure a very high skill level for all coaches to maintain both their riding and teaching standards.  Every staff member strives to enhance the positive atmosphere for learning that our students can expect as they discover the joy of horses and riding at Wynbrook Farm.

As of January, 2007, our current rates for lesson packages are as follows:

a) 12 week package of group lessons = $160 per month x 3 post-dated cheques

b) individual private lessons = $75

c) individual semi-private lesson = $55 per person
